100% of your gift will be used for the direct service of seniors.

Serving Our Seniors is our community’s commitment to helping older adults, age 60+ maintain their independence. As a private, non-profit corporation, Serving Our Seniors’ work is funded through the Erie County Senior Services tax levy, volunteers, fund-raising events, grants and donations.
The aging population is growing larger and living longer, increasing the demands and the costs of helping Erie County’s older adults. At the same time, Serving Our Seniors’ levy revenue is declining.
Your donation can help Serving Our Seniors’ to continue to provide services to Erie County seniors! In return, 100% of your gift will go directly towards providing service to an Erie County older adult in need of help. None of the gift will be used for administrative overhead. Your donation is tax deductible. No amount is too small!

How You Can Help Serving Our Seniors!

Individuals, organizations and businesses wishing to contribute financially to SERVING OUR SENIORS can choose to donate to our general fund or a specific fund or funds.   Special Funds can also be created to honor an individual, organization or business; or to provide for specific service or program. 100% all Donations will be used specifically as directed by the donor and not be used towards administrative overhead.

The Medicine Fund is a special fund created to purchase liquid prescriptions that treat diabetes, glaucoma, and cataracts, and are not available through the Drug Repository.  The Medicine Fund was established to help seniors who are forced to make a choice between paying for their prescriptions and other necessities.   This fund is one more important tool Serving Our Seniors’ staff can use to help seniors in need.  Over $50,000 has been raised for this fund since 2003.  Your donation to this important fund will help seniors struggling to afford their medications in later life.   To help Serving Our Seniors’ ability to continue to meet the growing need. Call Sue Daugherty (419) 624-1856 to discuss contributing to The Medicine Fund.

Ray & Marian Koch

The Ray & Marian Koch Fund is a fund of last resort. It provides a means for paying for a service to address an urgent problem that no other social service agency addresses.  This fund allows Service Our Senior Advocates to act quickly in urgent situations. Ray Koch and his wife Marian Koch were both part of the original steering committee that founded Serving Our Seniors. This fund was established in honor of Ray & Marian’s commitment to helping senior citizens in need.

Serving Our Seniors’ is extremely fortunate to have over a 100 dedicated volunteers.  As the demand for Serving Our Seniors’ services grows, volunteers  play an increasingly important role in our ability to provide a high level of service and support for Erie County seniors. Volunteers are needed for home delivered meals, out of town transportation, special events and office support.   If you, your organization or company is interested in a meaningful way to contribute to your community, call Sue Daugherty (419) 624-1856 to discuss joining Serving Our Seniors’ volunteer service.

The mission of the Sandusky/Erie County Community Foundation is to develop a permanent endowment, to identify and respond to community needs, and to facilitate charitable giving. Serving Our Seniors has a designated fund within the Sandusky/Erie County Community Foundation. “Designated Funds” are established by, and in support of, a specific Erie County non-profit organization. Serving Our Seniors’ designated fund pays out annual distributions used for much needed operating support for our organization. To make a donation that will help the Sandusky/Erie County Community Foundation further its mission, and help Serving Our Seniors, complete this form.
