Serving Our Seniors FY2021 1st Quarter Dashboard 2,305 Calls to Serving Our Seniors for Assistance 1,505 Individual Older Adults Called for Help with a Question/Problem/Concern Nutrition 6,105 Rural Home Delivered Meals 0 Meals Served at Rural Luncheon Group (Luncheon groups are suspended due to Covid-19). Affordable Transportation 124 Total number of individual older adults who used Weekday Transportation. 2,059 Actual Rides: Total number of one-way trips/rides funded by Serving Our Seniors. 33 Total number of individual older adults who used Weekday Transportation at a reduced bus fare. 785 Total number of rides at a reduced fare throughout Erie County. (50¢/ 1-way trip). 11 Total number of gas vouchers to older adults for out of town healthcare appointments. (Volunteers are not driving trips due to Covid-19). 5 Total number of individual older adults who received a gas voucher for out of town healthcare appointments. Priority Programs 16 Small Home Repairs 7 New Ramps Installed 124 Ramps in Service throughout Erie County as of December 31, 2020 Services to Support Independent Living at Home Education Offered 519 Medicare Counseling Sessions October 2020 – December 2020 Starting with this issue of Serving Our Seniors Magazine, you will meet five (5) citizen leaders, who are Trustees on the Board of Serving Our Seniors. The trustees are the community leaders, who inspire a vision and oversee that the agency is effective in helping you age well in the 21 century. You will read how Covid-19 has forced the use of technology/smart devices in place of having in-person interaction. For many, “virtual” interaction is real barrier. I hope you will read page 19, Closing The Digital Divide and page 4, Medicare Message. We want to be here to assist the 60+ population to become familiar with this “new normal” and use it to age well. Listed to the right is our Report to the Community to show you the volume of service provided from October 2020 through December 2020. But these aren’t just numbers. They are people.
