Do You Live Alone in Later Life? If you live alone in later life and have a functional limitation or declining health, you should know about a KNOX BOX. A KNOX BOX is a vault that holds the key to your front door. Only the Fire Fighters/ EMS have a key to open the vault. It enables First Responders to get into your home, quickly, in an emergency. Without a Knox Box, they must breakdown your door or window to enter. The cost of a KNOX BOX ranges from $189.00 to $300.00, plus shipping, depending on the model your local Fire Department/EMS uses. Serving Our Seniors would like to know how many Erie County residents, age 60+ are living alone and would like a KNOX BOX, if it were installed by your local fire department? Based on the results, Serving Our Seniors will use this information to work with the local fire departments, including those not pictured, to develop a method of making KNOX BOXES available to those who can afford and cannot afford this purchase. To express your interest in a KNOX BOX call (419-624-1856) or e-mail (Mail@ServingOurSeniors.org ) Serving Our Seniors. Use the words KNOX BOX and tell us your name, address and phone number.
