Civista Bank Imposter Scam This scam tried to trick me by sending me a text message that appears to be from Civista Bank. I knew to be suspicious and not to respond to this imposter because the bank name and the word “alert” were misspelled. If I clicked the link, it would have taken me to a fake website where I would be asked to type in my password and bank account number. If I had followed those instructions, I would have given the scammer the keys to steal my money. Legitimate businesses will never ask for your password. Never click on links without first verifying they are really from the person/ business you are assuming sent you the link. Be absolutely certain before you click on any link.
