Write Congresswoman Kaptur, Senators Moreno and Husted 7 Diabetes Empowerment Education Program Do you have days when you feel like diabetes is a heavy cloud hanging over your daily life? It doesn’t have to be that way. The FREE Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP) is the perfect chance to change your attitude and take charge of your future. This six week program is an evidence-based training and will take place each Tuesday from May 7 to June 11, 2026, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Milan Library, 19 Church Street in Milan. The course is led by Tina Sluga, a Certified DEEP Instructor. She doesn’t lecture or “talk at you.” Instead, she explains what you need to know to avoid serious problems down the road, caused by uncontrolled diabetes. She also answers questions about how diabetes affects your heart, your feet and your energy levels. Those who take the DEEP course enjoy the socially interactive learning and appreciate having a better understanding of what is going on inside of their body as they live with pre-diabetes or diabetes.
