Seniors R Us and Them, too Erie County residents often confuse Serving Our Seniors with the Erie County Senior Center. Many people think the two agencies are one organization. Both agencies work on behalf of seniors but each takes different approaches. Founded in 1976, primarily funded by the Older Americans Act through the Area Agency on Aging 620 E. Water Street, Sandusky Serves any American citizen, aged 60 or older, regardless of where they live Lunch on Monday-Friday ($3.50 per meal) Computer education and other classes Exercise programs such as Yoga, Tai Chi, dartball, ping pong, and outdoor walks Social groups and activities such as Men’s Fellowship, Bible Study, Card Clubs, craftmaking, and more Speakers on various topics Tax preparation assistance Thrift Shop, Gift Shop and library on site Travel trips to various destinations throughout the US All home delivered meals are cooked, packaged and sent out for delivery from the Senior Center. Meals delivered to Sandusky city residents are paid for by the Senior Center.
