A number of the most important programs and services offered by Serving Our Seniors are undertaken by our dedicated volunteers. The time and talent they so generously give is much appreciated. When asked why they volunteer, most say “to help others.” Research shows that volunteering has numerous benefits for the volunteer as well. Doing good, it turns out, is good for you. Featured in this issue are stories about our volunteers. In a variety of ways, they make a tremendous impact every day in the lives of Erie County’s older adults. Without their help, we would not be able to accomplish all that we do at Serving Our Seniors. I hope as you read about their contributions to the quality of our community life, that you, too, will be inspired to become a volunteer! Best regards, Sue Doing Good is Good for You!
