Serving Our Seniors Magazine April - June 2025
As we age our jawbone changes. This can make dentures loose fitting, uncomfortable and can even cause sores. When dentures do not fit it makes eating difficult. In some cases, it makes it difficult to talk / pronounce words, easily. Some people have had their dentures so long, that the teeth have worn down to the point that the dentures are no longer useful. Getting new dentures is an expensive proposition. According to Google, “the cost of dentures in Ohio can vary depending on a variety of factors and a complete set of dentures can range from $1,000 to $3,000 per arch.” That is why many older adults will just keep their old dentures and suffer through it; or eat to the best of their ability with no teeth. Keep in mind that not all dentures need to be replaced. Sometimes, the dentures can be “relined,” which makes the denture fit, comfortably, again. This is something a dentist can do at a fraction of the cost. Are you wearing dentures that no longer fit comfortably? If so, call Serving Our Seniors (419-624-1856).
