The Erie County Health Department and Erie County Community Health Center presents “Live Later, Live Better,” a comprehensive senior health event on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Sawmill Creek Resort. Enjoy a free continental breakfast, buffet lunch, snacks and refreshments. Start your day with fasting bloodwork, engage in informative presentations on key health topics that will help you age well, as you grow older. Gain insights from Dr. Ardeshir Hashmi, Section Chief of Geriatric Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic and Charles Murray JD, Partner of Murray and Murray Legal Firm and Erie County Board of Health member, will address ageism, discrimination, fraud, and legal rights for aging adults during the “Lunch & Learn” session. Have a one-on-one discussion with Erie County Health Center medical professionals and para-professionals, who will present topics and answer your questions. Topics include: Mental Wellness; There Are No Stupid Questions: How to make sense out of your doctor’s appointment; Age, Disease & Lifestyle; What Does Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Respirations, Eyes and Ears Tell Your Doctor About Your Health? A “LISTENING SESSION” and on-site consultations with primary care, mental health, and dental providers to offer free personalized advice. Serving Our Seniors’ Health Care Advocate Trainer, Tina Sluga, will also be available to assist with questions about how to advocate for yourself to get the best care. Serving Our Seniors is handling registration. A $10 refundable deposit in cash or check is required to reserve your seat. The deposit is refunded, immediately, at the conclusion of the event.
