We have received the following grants in 2018 and sincerely thank the following foundations and Donor Advised Funds for their generous support: • Michele Wightman-Karrie Wieber Charitable Foundation for funds for an Out-of-Town Transportation vehicle. Last year, our volunteer drivers took 118 clients on 420 trips to their health care appointments. • The Randolph J. and Estelle M. Dorn Foundation & The George Mylander Foundation for funds to purchase a new Home Delivered Hot Meals truck. Last year, the rural volunteer drivers delivered 22,080 meals to Erie County communities • Donor Advised Funds of the Erie County Community Foundation George and Mary Foster Family Fund for funds to purchase a carpet cleaner and attachments. Court-appointed Community Service participants clean the carpets at the Serving Our Seniors office, when available. Moffitt Family Legacy Fund , Chuck and Carolyn Rainger Fund , and Jewett Family Fund for funds to purchase new office chairs and floor mats, replacing 20-year-old chairs for the staff. The Dorn Foundation DAF for funds for programming to help older adults develop new and supportive friendships. The program was launched June 6, 2018 in Sandusky with a pilot group of 30 attendees. The program is called “Flock Together.” • Erie County Community Foundation for funds for a Community Links Summer Intern. Libby Grant, Xavier University student, is working with Serving Our Seniors for 10 weeks.
