Have you been surprised by the amount of money you are paying out of pocket for your medications? Many people are unaware of how their Medicare Part D plan works. Nor do they understand what options exist to help reduce costs. Each Medicare Drug Plan has its own list of covered drugs, called a “formulary.” The drugs on that list are placed into different tiers and pricing schedules. Your drug costs can vary greatly depending on a number of factors within the Drug Plan that you select. If you need advice as to why your Medicare Part D plan isn’t working as you hoped, please join Serving Our Seniors at our public forum, “Medicare Part D: The Devil Is In The Details.” It will be held Aug. 9, 2018 and again on Sept. 13, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Erie County Office Building, 247 Columbus Ave., Sandusky (downtown). Health Care Advocate Trainer Tina Elmlinger will facilitate a dialogue between pharmacists and Patricia Stineman, Trainer of Volunteer Medicare Counselors, and the audience. Please bring your medications – in the original bottles – or bring a list of medications with the correct spelling of each drug. To register for the forum, please call Brenda at Serving Our Seniors 419-624-1856 or e-mail Mail@ServingOurSeniors. org by Aug. 7. Leave your name, phone number and the name of this event. If the forum is cancelled for any reason, you will be notified. Medicare Part D: The Devil Is In The Details Tina Elmlinger Patricia Stineman
