The Erie County Senior Center sees to it that the meals are cooked, packaged and delivered. They manage the volunteers and the delivery routes. Things have been going well for the last 28 years. With one exception… There is a need for 4 - 5 volunteers. Specifically, a volunteer is needed to drive a Rural Home Delivered Meal Truck on Thursday of each week. As needed, volunteer drivers would pitch in to cover the schedule so the other rural meal delivery driver can have a day off. The volunteers would arrive at 9:45 a.m. and in most cases the volunteers are back by 12:30 p.m. (generally speaking). The volunteer drives the rural home delivered meal truck and delivers meals. This can be done alone or as a couple. Looking for a meaningful way to spend a few hours a day or per week? Become a Rural Home Delivered Meal Coordinator and bring nourishment, comfort and connection to neighbors who need it most. This part-time role pays $11/hr and runs Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., in Florence Twp. We’re also seeking a dependable “back-up” coordinator for Florence Twp or Huron – on-call, “as needed.” Hourly rate is $11/hr. Your time can truly make a world of difference. With over 23,000 people age 60 or older living in Erie County, we have to believe there are two (2) kind-hearted individuals who want to truly help others. Could one of them be you?
