Serving Our Seniors Magazine July - September 2025
More of this age-group are growing older, alone. In Erie County, one in three residents are now age 60 or older. As we live longer, we must ensure that our community’s older adults have the support they need to maintain their health, independence, and dignity. Not just for today, but into the future. That is why Serving Our Seniors has launched the 2025-2026 Fund for the Future campaign – a bold initiative to secure long-term financial stability for helping tomorrow’s older adults. Some will be those who are age 60+, today, and will be 80+ in 20 years. Others will be your middle-aged, adult children or neighbors. A Fund That Lasts for Generations Serving Our Seniors Fund for the Future is an endowment fund, held at the Erie County Community Foundation. Unlike one-time fundraising campaigns, this fund is designed to provide ongoing financial support in perpetuity. The goal is to raise $1 million by the end of 2026, ensuring that services and financial assistance for maintaining health and functional, independence is available for generations to come.
