• Serving Our Seniors is solely funded by the Erie County Senior Services Tax Levy & Private Donations

Ray & Marian Koch were co-founders, along with
Judge Jane Lucal and together they established
Serving Our Seniors. Ray & Marian were
instrumental in laying the foundation that has
caused Serving Our Seniors to do the work that
we do today.
To pay tribute to Ray & Marian for improving
the quality of life for senior citizens living in Erie
County, Serving Our Seniors established The Ray
& Marian Koch Fund. This fund is used to help
senior citizens with urgent needs, when no other
social service is available to address the senior
citizens’ problem. Examples of how The Ray &
Marian Koch Fund has been used in the past
are: Paying for a doctor appointment,
purchasing food when Serving Our
Seniors has found an older adult with no
food in their home, paying parking fees for
a patient who didn’t have the money and
needed to see her specialist in Cleveland,
clothes for a senior who had nothing
to wear but the outft she had on, and
the treatment of an infected tooth & its
extraction.

The Ray & Marian Koch Memorial Fund
On May 11, 2013, the Director of Serving Our Seniors, Sue Daugherty,
was a recipient of the National Council of Negro Woman – Sandusky
Section, “Community Impact Award”. “In appreciation for the dedication
and service to the community”. The other honorees recognized for their
impact on the community were: Rev. Tom Darden, Mr. Clinton Bennett,
Mr. LeRoy Sizemore, Rev. Herman Robinson, Ms. Yvonne Donald, Rev.
Darrel Gant.
