Each school year, Serving Our Seniors arranges for
Erie County residents, age 60+ to be part of Perkins
and Sandusky High Schools’ sociology curriculum,
as the students study older Americans. Topics
include:
E-mail Pals, Being 90+, Living through
the Civil Rights Movement, Inter-generational
Games
(euchre, poker, checkers, chess, Scrabble),
“What’s My Line”
(an exercise in stereo-typing),
and
Dancing.
We are recruiting people age 60
and better – NOW – to be part of sociology for fall
semester 2014/2015 school year. Call Serving Our
Seniors if you would like to know how you can be
part of the Gerontology Practical Experience, 419-

70 senior citizens e-mailed PHS
sociology students as “pen pals”.
They met for an “E-mail Pal
Breakfast” at PHS in April.
