Serving Our Seniors Magazine January - March 2026
Serving Our Seniors and the Cleveland Clinic have a working relationship for the purposes of making more older adults aware of the Cleveland Clinic’s Successful Aging Visits and make them easy to get to. The appointments are billed to your Medicare insurance. The appointments are virtual and held at Serving Our Seniors office, one Saturday per month with Dr. Anmolsingh, Geriatrician. Unfortunately, this service is woefully, underutilized by Erie County residents. For many, the reluctance to schedule a Successful Aging Appointment is because they fear what they might learn — especially if they have noticed changes in their memory. This fear is understandable, but avoiding the appointment can lead to missed opportunities for better health and independence. The appointment includes a thorough review of medications, mobility, memory, and overall wellness. The goal is prevention: identifying small issues before they become major problems. One of the most common reasons people avoid these visits is the belief that “ignorance is bliss.” Unfortunately, that mindset can be dangerous. Memory changes don’t always mean dementia. In fact, some causes — such as medication side effects, vitamin deficiencies, or untreated depression — are treatable if properly diagnosed. By ignoring symptoms, you may allow a reversible condition to worsen unnecessarily. To schedule your visit, call Serving Our Seniors at 419-624-1856. Ask to speak with a Senior Advocate Assistant. Take the first step toward aging successfully — because what you don’t know could hurt you.
