Time does fly when you’re having fun. I should know… I was the fortunate one hired to fill the role of Serving Our Seniors’ Director, in 1996, after it was established to as a formal not-for-profit, organization. The cover of Serving Our Seniors Magazine showcases my co-workers. They’re THE BEST! Three of whom were not available for the picture, nonetheless, all are responsible for the real work that solves the questions/problems/concerns called into our office. They are truly committed to helping those age 60+, living in Erie County, to age well and maintain their functional independence. Speaking of aging well, be sure to read the articles about Medicare (pg 22), Geriatric Medicine (pg 4) its long, but worth the read – TRUST ME; Covid (pg 10) and dental care (pg 25). Healthy aging doesn’t just happen,.. You have to know what to do. To the right of this article is our Report to the Community . It reflects the volume of services provided to through Serving Our Seniors. When you read the numbers, keep in mind that that behind the services rendered are real people – just like you and me. Thanks to those of you who make donations, volunteer time and support the Erie County Seniors Services Tax Levy we have been here to help. Stay well, Sue Daugherty 3
