Help in the Home You Can Afford SERVING OUR SENIORS is proud to announce that we are doing business with Hope4 Healing Hearts, LLC, to provide Personal Care and Light Housekeeping. This home care agency can assist Erie County residents, aged 60+, who need help with their personal hygiene. They have caregivers who can assist with bathing or showering and shampooing hair; or simply help someone get into and out of the tub or shower, safely. Once in the tub/shower the older adult who is able to bathe him/herself are free to do so. When done bathing the caregiver can help the older adult get out of the tub/ shower, safely, and provide assistance getting dressed, etc. The caregivers can also perform light housekeeping tasks, such as stripping the bed and putting on clean sheets, throwing a load of wash in the laundry, take out the trash, vacuum floors, clean the bathtub, toilet, etc. This service isn’t free, but it can be made to be affordable based on the household income. This is how it works ... Assume the person needs help in the home 2 days a week for 1 ½ hours per day. For the sake of illustration, the cost is $30/hour. This cost is $90/week, which equals $360/month. If this is beyond what the older adult can afford, Serving Our Seniors can share the cost by paying the portion that is not affordable. The amount of care needed cannot exceed $450 per calendar month. Below is a chart that shows how we can pay some of the cost of having a caregiver come to your home. Household income is used to determine how much Serving Our Seniors will pay.  If it is a household of 1 and the person makes $985/month or less, the person would pay $1.50/hour. Hope4 Healing Hearts will bill Serving Our Seniors to pay the balance. If it is a household of 2 and the income is $2,500/month, the person would pay $6.00/hour. Hope for Healing Hearts will bill Serving Our Seniors to pay the balance. Cost-sharing support may be available for individuals with incomes greater than is stated below.
