Serving Our Seniors Magazine: October - December 2026
In July 2026, I received a call from a person who wishes to remain anonymous. The caller said, “I don’t know that you remember this, because it was a long time ago. We talked and I told you that I am leaving my car to Serving Our Seniors when I die.” I remembered that conversation. At that time, the donor had said, “Don’t get excited, because I plan on being around for a while, but I just wanted you to know when I die I am giving my car to Serving Our Seniors.” Much to our surprise and gratitude, that same donor called to say it was time to give up driving and asked if Serving Our Seniors would like to have the car now. The donor’s kindness could not have been more timely! The Senior Advocate was driving a 2010 Ford Fusion with over 100,000 miles. Serving Our Seniors was spared the costly expense of buying a gently used “new” car. We were blessed with a gently used Anonymous Donor Gives Car to Senior Advocate Program By Sue Daugherty Honda Fit with just 50,000 miles. It runs like a top! Although I promised to honor the donor’s wishes and protect their anonymity, I want to express my deepest and most heartfelt gratitude. Thank you for your incredible generosity, thoughtfulness, and confidence in Serving Our Seniors. Your gift will make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Dianna in the donated car. 6
