The J-Markz, is a singing group that was started by
Sandusky resident, Jim Jackson in 2012. He pulled
some of his friends together and they sang their first
performance at Serving Our Seniors Spring Luncheon
in 2012. They brought down the house! Then they

In late summer 2014, Jim was thinking about how
much fun everyone had practicing and performing. He
decided to try to bring the group back together. Two of
the original members were not available to be part of
the “come-back”. So Jim found two other great singers
to take their place. Today, The J-Markz consist of: Jim
Jackson, 69; Jerry Garret, 68; Ken Wood, 66; Jake
Marshall, 66 and lead singer Darlene Walk, 59.
What makes this singing group unique is the fact that
most people don’t see later life as a time to develop
their creativity and ability to perform. Jim explains, “I
think this is something all of us would have liked to have
done when we were young, but we worked. Three of
us worked at Delphi, and it wasn’t uncommon for us to
have two days off in a month. Now that we are retired,
it’s a great time to do this”.

We have been remiss in expressing our deepest gratitude
to Serving Our Seniors for providing the means to get new
dentures for my husband. You have been most kind and
generous to a fault. We could NEVER have done this on our
own. May God bless you as much as you have blessed us.
You have a gem in Wendy for expediting all of this.

Well pleased with my ramp. In the time we have had it,
family members and the physical therapists who have come
to the house to treat my wife, all commented about how
wonderful it has been to use. And with such ease. I am sure
my wife would not be able to be home with me without your
