Understanding How Your Real Estate Taxes are Calculated: A general explanation.
By watching/listening to Caleb Stidham, Erie County Treasurer’s presentation, below, you will learn, in general terms, how your real estate is taxed.
There are various “taxing districts” throughout Erie County. To learn how YOUR real estate is taxed, based on where you live, you are invited to REGISTER, IN ADVANCE, and attend a forum discussion that pertains, specifically to YOU, based on where you live.
An audience of 30 or more is needed to justify the time to produce each forum. To reserve your seat call Serving Our Senior registration line at 419-504-0585. Call 1 week before the actual forum. Leave your name, telephone number and the date / name of the forum you wish to attend. If the forum is cancelled or venue changed, you will be notified by telephone.
ALL FORUMS BEGIN AT 1:30 PM… The schedule is:
• Feb. 7, City of Huron, Huron Public Library, 333 Williams Street. If we fail to attract 30 to register by February 5, 2025 this forum will be postponed and combined with Huron Township’s forum.
• Monday, Feb. 24, Florence Township, Florence Township Town Hall, 11011 Chapel Street, Birmingham.
• February 26, Huron Township, Huron Public Library, 333 Williams Street.
• Friday, Feb. 28, Berlin Hts & Berlin Township, Berlin Township Town Hall, 12101 St. Rte 61, Berlin Hts.
• Monday, March 3, Village of Milan, Milan-Berlin Public Library, 19 E. Church Street, Milan. If we fail to attract 30 to register by Feb. 26, 2025 this forum will be postponed and combined with Milan Township’s forum.
• Tues. March 4, Vermilion City, Ritter Public Library, 5680 Liberty Ave., Vermilion. If we fail to attract 30, to register by Feb. 27, 2025 this forum will be postponed and combined with Vermilion Township’s forum.
• Wednesday, March 5, City of Sandusky, Erie County Office Building, 247 Columbus Ave. (downtown) Sandusky.
• Friday, March 7, Vermilion Township, Ritter Public Library, 5680 Liberty Ave., Vermilion.
• Monday, March 10, Milan Township, Milan-Berlin Public Library, 19 E. Church Street, Milan.
• Tues. March 11, Margaretta Township, Castalia and the Village of Bayview, Erie County Office Building, 247 Columbus Ave. (downtown) Sandusky.
In addition to answering your questions, following his presentation, Treasurer, Caleb Stidham, will also explain the options for those who do not have the ability to pay all that is owed, on time.
